Superintendent Mark Beehler outlined an ambitious vision for the robot's classroom role. "Having a difficult time programming an Arduino board? Don't even know what an Arduino board is? Ask Sally and she can explain it," Beehler said on July 22, 2026. "The robot also provides opportunities for students to learn how the robot is maintained, how it is updated with new approved content, and how to troubleshoot issues."
But as news of the purchase spread through the small community, located on the Seneca Nation of Indians reservation, the response was swift and critical. Parents and teachers worried about how students' personal information would be collected and used by the AI system. Unionized teachers took particular aim at Realbotix's well-documented history as a manufacturer of intimate companion dolls, even as district officials and the company itself stressed that the two product lines operate independently.
